Showgroup Student Package

The Showgroup Student Package is designed for students aged 7 yrs and over who are interested in competing in Eisteddfods and dancing in various performances throughout the year. They are trained in Jazz, Acrobatics, Strength and Flexibility as well as taught a dance routine that will be performed in shows and at a competitive level in Eisteddfods. This program is designed for students who enjoy dancing as well as performing but do not wish to learn Classical Ballet or Tap. Students also have the option of learning a solo jazz routine for Eisteddfods if they decide they would like to do this.

Compulsory classes for students aged 7 years and over

1 hour of Jazz/Acrobatic Technique

This class has been introduced to allow the teachers time to teach students the correct jazz technique required for difficult steps. Difficult steps such as turns, kicks, leaps and acrobatic skills will be concentrated on. There is a great difference between doing a step and doing it properly. We do not have time in a showgroup lesson to do this as routines need to be learnt thoroughly. All performance routines will benefit from this class.

1 hour of strength and flexibility

The key to a strong performer is a strong body. This class will concentrate entirely on upper and lower body strength as well as repeated stretches to maintain maximum flexibility. Students will be encouraged to continue to work on these exercises at home.

1 hour of performance work

This class will consist of choreography to be used in Eisteddfods and Performances. The students will be taught 1 to 2 jazz routines to be used throughout the year.

Fee Structure

The Showgroup Students Package will be $24.00 per week. This must be paid in two instalments for the term. The first instalment of $120 will be due upon enrolment and you will be invoiced prior to the second instalment. If the term is not a ten week term, fees will be adjusted accordingly for the second instalment. Refunds will not be given on missed classes but may be made up on a different day during that week only. Fees will not be carried over to a different week or used towards private tuition. An additional $8.00 per hour or $10.00 per 1.5 hours needs to be added if you choose to do more classes other than the compulsory classes listed.
